As noted earlier we left Jackson Hole yesterday morning and drove into Yellowstone National Park and as far north as Mammoth Hot Springs before turning around and returning to Jackson Hole.

This marked our third visit to Yellowstone with the previous two visits made in March 2006 and again in September 2006.  Areas on our list to visit while on this trip were Yellowstone and the Mammoth Hot Springs.  Sadly we were disappointed in the hot springs as they didn't appear to be flowing as much as they were when we last saw them; then again the weather is currently milder than it was the last visit.  The elk as usual were in abundance so it wasn't a total loss.

Call us goofy however the other item we both were looking forward to - and don't laugh - were the french fries that McDonnalds serves at West Yellowstone.  Let's just say they are the freshest fries we've ever had and yesterday was no different even after 4-years.  Okay go ahead and laugh...

We ended up going through the South Entrance to enter the Park from Teton National Park and out the West Entrance to go into (briefly) West Yellowstone then reentered the Park using the West Entrance and finally exiting the Park again using the South Entrance which lead us directly into the Teton National Park.  This may sound extreme however we were very fortunate to view both Elk and Bison along the Madison River.

We saw beautiful landscape at the Continental Divide as well as the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway returning again to the Grand Teton National Park. The images included here were all captured using either the Canon 1DsIII or Leica M9.

Thank you as usual for visiting and allowing us to share our experiences. Please remember to feel free to leave comments or questions.
